Adipex (phentermine) should be combined with diet and exercise in order to help the patient diagnosed with obesity to lose weight faster. This medicine affects the central nervous system and reduces food cravings. You should be very careful when combining this medicine with other medications intended for weight loss (for example, fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine) as a rare but serious condition – pulmonary hypertension – may be developed. Unless your health care provider recommended you otherwise you are not supposed to take this medicine with any other drugs of the kind. Adipex has been reported to affect your reaction and ability to concentrate. If your job has to do with quick reaction do not take Adipex or make sure you know how you will respond to this medicine.
